Couples Therapy
Good relationships matter to our wellbeing, but they aren't always easy to navigate.
Every relationship has its ups and downs — that's normal. Sometimes, though, difficulties become entrenched and couples find themselves caught in patterns that are hard to break out of alone. These conversations can be hard to have and often stir up strong feelings, which is where a trained, impartial therapist can help: someone to support you both in communicating and understanding each other more clearly.
I feel strongly about what couples therapy can offer in breaking this cycle of hurt. It isn't about apportioning blame — it's about helping you understand one another more fully and find better ways of relating and communicating.
My training is grounded in a developmental model of relationships, giving me a psychological understanding of the stages relationships move through and where couples and families can become stuck. I offer a safe, supportive space — one that can also challenge where needed — to explore what's really going on beneath the surface of your relationship. By helping both partners understand the unconscious patterns shaping how they relate, not just to each other but in other relationships too, this work can build deeper self-understanding, break unhelpful cycles, and support lasting change.
